Domenico “Ico” Parisi (1916–1996), born in Palermo and raised in Como, was an architect, designer, and visionary whose career spanned architecture, furniture, and decorative arts. After an apprenticeship at Studio Terragni, he developed close ties with leading figures of Como’s artistic avant-garde. With his wife Luisa Aiani, he founded La Ruota, a cultural hub that combined design, art, and exhibitions. From handcrafted furniture to industrial collaborations with Cassina, and later to radical projects like Contenitoriumani (1968) and Operazione Arcevia (1974–76), Parisi continually sought a utopian, human-centered vision of living, leaving a profound mark on 20th-century Italian design.
