Designed in the early 1950s by Harry Bertoia, the Diamond Chair transforms a grid of welded steel wires into a suspended, airy shell. Resting on a minimalist steel base, its contoured form balances sculptural expression with structural clarity. Though made entirely of metal, the chair adapts gently to the body and offers a surprisingly comfortable sit. For Bertoia, it was more than furniture. It was a study in form, space, and lightness.

Vitra Design Museum
The Vitra Design Museum is dedicated to the research and presentation of design, past and present, and examines its relationship to architecture, art and everyday culture.
