From the postwar years, Bodil Kjær embraced new lifestyles with furniture that balanced comfort and modern living. Among them, the Serving Cart was designed to keep hosts connected with guests, featuring solid wood, colored shelves, and a stainless-steel top. Perfect for smaller homes and casual dining, it adapts to dinners in front of the TV or on the patio. When not in use, the cart tucks neatly under the table or stands as a refined, architectural accent.

Bodil Kjær
Bodil Kjær (b. 1932), Professor and Architect MAA, was educated in Denmark, England, and the USA before establishing her practice in Copenhagen and London. Between 1955 and 1963, she developed architectural elements—furniture, lamps, and glass—that solved both functional and aesthetic challenges, many of which entered production after being embraced by fellow architects. Her celebrated Office Desk, now produced by Karakter, has appeared in several Bond films as well as British cinema and television. Today, Kjær lives on the east coast of Jutland, where she continues teaching, researching, and contributing to the urban development of Aarhus.
